Fortunately Hansen Creative Services sites are not vulnerable to the “Heartbleed” bug.

You may hear news reports in the coming days about a potential problem with web-sites called “Heartbleed”. The problem is that the security certificate used on some sites has a “leak” in it that causes some of the confidential information to be vulnerable to hackers.

Fortunately the web-sites created by Hansen Creative Services that are hosted on Falcon Technologies or 1and1.com servers are NOT at risk from this problem. 1and1 uses a secure version of the Apache server platform and Falcon uses Microsoft servers which are unaffected.

We take the security of the web-sites we create very seriously and are pleased that our solutions are not prone to this problem.

However since this affects 2/3s of all web-sites on the internet, many other sites and hosts are affected. As a result users may find themselves having to reset your passwords on other sites.

One of the sites affected is Yahoo, so if you have an account with them, make sure to change your password right away. By contrast Google and gmail are safe from this issue. To check if other sites you use are affected, you can go here: http://filippo.io/Heartbleed/
